Poker Basics

Pot

The total amount of chips or money wagered by all players in the current hand. The pot accumulates through forced bets (blinds and antes) and voluntary bets across all betting rounds. The pot is awarded to the winner at showdown or when all other players have folded.

Example

Two players each put in $50 pre-flop, creating a $100 pot. After the flop bet and call of $60 each, the pot grows to $220 going to the turn.
