Guaranteed Tournament

A tournament where the poker room guarantees a minimum prize pool regardless of the number of entries. If player buy-ins do not reach the guaranteed amount, the room covers the shortfall (overlay). Guaranteed tournaments are popular at crypto poker rooms and can offer significant value when they fail to fill.

Example

A room advertises a $50,000 guaranteed Sunday tournament with a $100 buy-in. If 400 players register, the prize pool reaches $40,000 — the room covers the remaining $10,000.
