Multi-Way
A pot involving three or more players. Multi-way pots play very differently from heads-up pots because the likelihood that someone has a strong hand increases with more players. In multi-way situations, bluffing becomes less effective and hand selection should be tighter, favoring hands with strong drawing potential.
Example
You raise pre-flop and get three callers, making it a four-way pot. Your A♠K♦ loses value in multi-way pots because someone is more likely to connect with the flop.
