Upswing

An extended period of winning results, where actual results exceed expected value. Like downswings, upswings are driven partly by positive variance. It is important not to overestimate your skill level during upswings, as the results may partially reflect favorable luck rather than superior play.

Example

Over the last 10,000 hands, you are running 12bb/100 — well above your long-term average of 4bb/100. Enjoy the upswing but do not move up stakes based on short-term results.
