Late Position

The seats at the poker table that act last or near-last in a betting round, specifically the cutoff and the button. Late position is the most profitable because you see how most opponents act before making your decision. Players in late position can open wider ranges and apply more pressure through position.

Example

You are in the cutoff with 8♠7♠. The table has folded around to you, so you raise — from late position, suited connectors become very profitable opens.
