Poker Basics

Position

Your seat at the poker table relative to the dealer button, which determines your order of action. Position is one of the most important strategic concepts in poker. Acting later gives you more information about opponents' hands and allows you to play a wider range of hands profitably.

Example

You hold A♠K♥ on the button. Everyone folds to you — being last to act means you can raise with confidence since you will have position for the entire hand.
