Poker Basics

Middle Position

The seats at the poker table between early position and late position. Middle position players act after the early position players but before the button and cutoff. You can play slightly wider ranges from middle position compared to early position, but should still exercise caution since several players remain to act behind you.

Example

From middle position (MP2) at a full ring table, you open-raise with A♦J♠. You have fewer players behind you than early position, so you can widen your range slightly.
